Portraits of Megan

At the beginning of July Megan had a Portrait session with Nick at Lechnir Designs. The photos were taken in our back yard and came out wonderfully! I hope Nick doesn't mind that I share one directly here and link to the rest. I'm ordering a few, but if family wants more, I'm sure we can order additional ones as well. What a beautiful young lady we have!

You can see the rest of the photo proofs here: http://lechnirdesign.com/accounts/groth/20080706/

Now, how am I supposed to decide what to order!?!

OK, I have to comment on my own post -- I look at the picture and my heart just about leaps! My "baby" is growing up! She's growing up so beautifully though. She is just the best 11 year old I have ever known! (No, I'm not biased at all!). And that smile, when you get the real one, is so gorgeous ... oh, I feel sorry for the boys already. :-) And the thing is she's such a good kid ... she stayed up late with me last night and made chocolate cupcakes (gluten free!) for me to take to work today for my birthday. And she actually want to go with today on Nessa's field trip. I love this kid!!!! :-)

Either she has good genes, or her parents are doing all the right things. It's usually hard for children with divorced parents.

Well, I know her genes aren't perfect and I know her parents aren't perfect or doing everything perfectly. Of course I also think it's a fallacy that kids with divorced parents always have a rougher time. I think it is one of many possible risk factors. I prefer to look at the fact that Megan has many, many people that care for her, and by having all those people with diverse interests, homes, and so on she is exposed to a very wide variety of things rather than the narrow scope that many kids in the U.S. grow up with.

I can't believe that is little Megan. Such a beauty, inside and out :-)
